Before and After School Program (BASP)

Desiree Parciak

The Sweeney Before School Program runs from 7:00am until the start of school and offers a safe place for your child to come before school begins. Activities include games, puzzles, coloring, etc.

Our After School Program runs from 3:15pm to 5:45pm and offers a series of educational, artistic, and creative events for your children. With help from organizations such as Big Brother/Big Sisters and Eastern Connecticut State University's Center for Community Engagement, we provide health and safety projects, as well as mentoring and reading support. We also provide a time every day dedicated just for homework help and tutoring twice a week.

Several times during the year we provide family events, field trips and school visits from several outside facilities (Science Center, Eastern Connecticut State University, The Children's Museum, and more!).

All parents and WPS school staff are encouraged to visit our private Shutterfly website for events, calendar and picture albums of activities. This site contains all the BASP information that you will need, as well as a place for you to comment and ask questions. Please create an account with a username and password and the BASP coordinator will approve your account.

Please note that transportation is not provided to students enrolled in BASP and students must be picked up by an adult 18 years of age or older. To ensure the safety of our children you will need to provided identification to our door monitor upon your arrival, this prevents anyone who is not eligible to pick up your children from doing so. Registration is open year round, however, spots are limited. Please return your registration form to Sweeney Elementary School.

Please visit our District Before and After School Program Page for more information and Registration Forms.
